Founded in 1987 in San Antonio, Overland Partners brings together diverse talents to provide comprehensive services in architectural design, urban design, and master planning throughout the world. Sensitive to the environmental and aesthetic contexts of our projects, Overland thoughtfully integrates technology, art, and craft to uncover world-class, innovative sustainable solutions for highly complex projects. Their design process is collaborative in nature, maximizing the unique knowledge and strengths of stakeholders, consultants, and teammates.
Overland Partners has completed projects spanning the globe, ranging from Fortune 500 headquarters to art museums to visitors centers, homeless shelters to luxury private homes, universities to urban planning. Their work has received more than 200 international, national, regional, and local design awards and has been published in numerous national and international publications. Overland was recognized by Architect magazine as one of the top 50 design firms in the United States in 2015 and one of the top 50 sustainable design firms in 2016.
Their design for the Gray’s Paso Robles residence will offer O’Neal and Lynn the opportunity to more fully share their talents for enriching the lives of family, friends, and all those they encounter. The home and landscape will respond thoughtfully to the local environment and its unique character, providing a sanctuary for the soul that blurs the line between the indoor and outdoor.
Meeting the same sustainability standards as MoonSprings® Vineyard, the Gray’s home will respect the land it inhabits. Materials and composition are inspired from – and intrinsic to – the topography, its context, and location. The design calls upon knowledge of native ecology, climate, sun, and wind to create spaces and structures that are hospitable and self-sustaining. Construction and landscape are designed for environmental sensitivity and low maintenance.
The interior design will be brought to life by Paul Draper & Associates of Dallas, Texas.
As founder of Rick Hoffman and Associates, Rick Hoffman has demonstrated his ability to manage a diverse scope of geologic projects with an emphasis on efficiency and professionalism. Presently, his principal responsibilities include managing the company and acting as senior geologist on all projects. His professional specialties include: hydrologic evaluation, groundwater basin analysis, water well siting and construction supervision, geologic hazards assessment, seismic and and fault investigations, environmental planning, and erosion and drainage control mitigation.
In 2022, Coastal Vineyard Services assumed management of MoonSprings Vineyard® with the intent to maximize its natural resources and take the vineyard to even greater heights. CVS has been growing premium wine grapes on the Central Coast for over 30 years. They specialize in customized sustainable growing techniques that maximize efficiency and quality in the vineyard. The CVS team was the natural choice to direct MoonSprings’ future, being the management service used by many of the highly rated vineyards in the area and having the full support of our wine making partners.
Over the course of his impressive career, Ted Plemons has established himself as a premier general contractor on California’s central coast. As co-owner of the award-winning Cass Winery, Plemons complements his masterful work on custom homes and boutique wineries with personal experience in the wine business.
